At microthrills we care about your privacy and do not sell your data.

What we collect

In Pickle: the receipt photo you upload, and the contents of the bill — item names, prices, tax, tip, the venue, the display name you type, which items each person claimed, and a payment handle if you choose to add one. In Friend Fridge: the plans, ideas, and other data your group adds, and who's marked themselves as coming. If you contact us: your message and the email address you give us. Our host also records standard server logs, including IP address and browser type.

We don't collect your contacts, photo library, precise location, health data, or advertising identifiers.

How we collect it

All of it is either entered by you in the app or recorded automatically by our hosting provider when your browser makes a request. There are no accounts, so there's no sign-up or profile data. Our web apps also use Hotjar for anonymized session analytics, which records how pages are used so we can improve our apps.

What we use it for

Only to run the apps — showing your group the bill or the plan, keeping the service secure and working, and replying if you write to us. We don't advertise, build profiles, or track you across other companies' apps and websites, which is why our apps never ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.

Third parties

Cloudflare hosts the apps and stores the data. Anthropic reads the text off receipt photos in Pickle; those images are not used to train models. Hotjar provides the session analytics described above. Apple distributes our iOS apps. Each is bound by contract to use this data only to provide its service to us. None of them may sell it, share it, or use it for their own advertising.

How links work

Instead of accounts, each bill or fridge lives at a long, unguessable link, and anyone holding that link can see and edit what's on it. That's the trade off that lets your friends skip installing anything. It isn't listed anywhere or indexed by search engines, but it can be forwarded — so don't put anything on a bill or a fridge that would be a problem if someone passed the link along.

Deleting your data

Use the contact form and send the link to the bill or fridge you want removed. It gets deleted, along with any receipt photo attached to it, and you'll get confirmation back. There's no account to close and you don't need to give a reason.

The same form covers rights you may have under the CCPA/CPRA in California or the GDPR in the EU and UK, including access, correction, and a copy of your data. We respond within the time the applicable law requires. We operate from the United States and our providers store data there.

Children

Our apps aren't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and it'll be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use the apps after a change means the updated policy applies.
